Vidnami was a popular video maker, allowing users to quickly create videos for social media, ads, eCommerce product pages, and more. Powered by artificial intelligence and with premium stock images, stock audio clips, video templates, and a lot more, Vidnami was pretty popular.
Unfortunately, Vidnami sold its technology to GoDaddy. In 2021, Noble Samurai, the owner of Vidnami, announced that it was shutting down after the sale.
Don’t get me wrong — the technology will still be out there, but it will be integrated into GoDaddy’s product offerings. In other words, you can no longer buy Vidnami as a standalone product.
While the Vidnami website is still up, as of this writing, there is no way to sign up for the free trial or purchase the product. Instead, when you click on the signup or purchase links, I got a “404 Not Found” error, and I was unable to continue.
In either case, Vidnami did not even offer a free plan, only a free trial. It was a bit pricey, too.
Fortunately, there are many amazing Vidnami alternatives out there. Today, I will be discussing the best Vidnami alternatives on the market, whether you are making videos for social media, YouTube, advertisements, or anything else.
Best Vidnami Alternatives
1. Lumen5
Lumen5 is a video maker geared towards brands, small businesses, startups, and agencies. According to the Lumen5 website, businesses such as Cisco, Merck, Salesforce, and others have created over six billion videos using the software so far.
One of the reasons Lumen5 is preferred by so many brands is that it offers the ability to create videos with simple drag and drop editing. That means that even people without any video editing experience can use it to create videos.
Like Vidnami did, Lumen5 uses artificial intelligence to power its video maker. You can easily turn blog posts into videos, using music and millions of stock photos to draft the perfect business video.
Each video is customizable, and you can brand the videos you create with your unique logo, brand colors, and even watermark.
There are many templates and themes available, making Lumen5 fantastic for creating explainer videos, slideshows, product videos, marketing promotions, educational videos, and a lot more. You can upload content in any file format, and Lumen5 will turn it into a video.
The Lumen5 software is cloud-based. That means that you can access it on any device, without needing to download any software.
Furthermore, unlike Vidnami, Lumen5 offers a forever-free plan for casual video creators. While you will be limited to videos in 720p, and your videos will carry the Lumen5 watermark, you can create an unlimited number of videos on the free plan (see updated pricing).
2. Pictory
Another tool that uses AI to turn text and other content into videos, like Vidnami, is Pictory. Whether you want to turn a blog post into a promotional video or select the best clips from a long webinar and turn them into short videos, Pictory is the tool to use.
You can even use it to turn podcasts into short videos, making them easier to consume.
If you are starting with a video script, Pictory will use artificial intelligence to transcribe the video. You can then edit the text to reverse-edit the video.
Alternatively, if you are starting with a blog post or some other text, Pictory’s AI engine will extract highlights from the blog post and select images, videos, and other media to go along with those highlights. Then, you can add your own voice-over or have the AI create a voice-over for you.
Pictory even brands itself as an alternative to ex-Vidnami users, claiming that it offers all that Vidnami had to offer and a lot more. You can brand your videos with your logo and colors, summarize webinars with AI, and integrate with Hootsuite to quickly share videos to your social media profiles.
Pictory offers a free plan allowing you to create up to three videos a month (see pricing).
3. InVideo
InVideo is an online video editor and creator and a popular alternative to Vidnami. Unlike Vidnami, it is entirely free to use, and the free plan even includes stock media and automatic text to speech!
The only restriction is that free users, while being able to export 60 videos a month, have to make do with videos bearing the InVideo watermark. Nevertheless, even free users can add an unlimited number of team members to their accounts for intense collaboration.
InVideo has over 5,000 templates. Regardless of which industry you are in, there will be a template you can use to create a professional video for your business.
From travel agency presentations to short film promos, there are tons of templates available. Simply browse the templates on the site or use the search bar to find one that works for you.
Once you’ve chosen a template app for your business, you can select from the millions of stock images, videos, and audio clips. Of course, you may also upload your own images and media, if you wish.
With the text to video tool, you can turn blog posts and other content into videos. Like Vidnami, InVideo will use artificial intelligence to have a natural-sounding voice read the text.
Next, you can edit and customize the video by adding text, changing colors, trimming it, and so on. Once you are done, you can download the video or you can share it directly to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or YouTube.
In addition to business videos, InVideo makes it possible to create meme videos, posters, invitation videos, and more. You don’t even need to create an account to open the web editor and start creating videos — though you will need to sign up eventually to save the video.
With tutorials and webinars, you can learn effective tips for creating beautiful videos. The live chat support and engaging Facebook community mean that help is always at your fingertips.
4. Renderforest
While a superb alternative to Vidnami for creating branded videos, Renderforest is actually more than that — it’s an all-in-one branding tool. In addition to videos, it allows you to create logos, graphics, mockups, and even branded websites!
Yes, Renderforest comes with a simplified website builder. If you don’t have the time or technical skills to set up a website with third-party hosting, Renderforest might be just what you need.
It certainly makes it easier to create a branded presence online than Vidnami did.
When creating a video, you will notice that there are tons of templates to choose from. From explainer animations to audio clips to intros, there’s a lot of content to choose from.
You can browse templates and presets here. There is a search bar and several filters to make your search easier.
As with videos, websites on Renderforest can be made with premade templates, or you can start from scratch. Either way, you can customize your site with premium components and your branding, and you will even get a free subdomain!
Even better, Renderforest makes it easy to generate a unique logo for your brand. Using machine learning, the tool will generate a logo based on your description of your business — all you have to do next is add your brand name.
You can also use Renderforest to create realistic product mockups or unique graphics for posters, social media posts, ads, and more.
5. Promo.com
Promo.com is an online video maker that is popular with some former users of Vidnami. With over 100 million stock assets from iStock and Getty Images at your fingertips, creating marketing, explainer, and social media videos is super easy.
Just select from the thousands of available templates, fit for any purpose, and then customize the video by editing the colors, fonts, and branding.
The Photo to Video maker allows you to upload your pictures to generate eye-catching videos, complete with testimonials and product promotions.
The Promo.com team provides support 24/7.
All in all, while simple, Promo.com is a decent alternative to Vidnami, with decent and affordable pricing.
6. FlexClip
FlexClip is an online video editor that allows you to edit and create videos for your social accounts and for your business.
While there are thousands of templates available to make creating a video easy, you can also start from scratch if you have some video creation skills. There are millions of elements you can add to the videos you create, including animated text.
There are also over four million stock assets, including images, audio, and video clips, that you can add to your videos.
Templates exist for different purposes. For example, if you need a video introducing your real estate agency, there is a template for that; if you need to create a video resume when applying for a secretary job position, there is a template for that, too.
It’s also easy to trim, cut, and otherwise edit your videos.
However, FlexClip is more than a video creator. It is also a screenshot recording tool, allowing you to create tutorials with ease; it is also a slideshow maker.
FlexClip might not have the advanced AI features of Vidnami, but it’s still an awesome tool that is incredibly easy to use. Furthermore, not only does it allow you to create a limited number of free videos, but its premium plans are very affordable, costing a lot less than Vidnami did (see here for updated pricing).
7. Viddyoze
With a simple and streamlined workflow, Viddyoze is a Vidnami alternative worth considering. With over 200 templates for every occasion, Viddyoze gives you everything you need to create stunning videos for your business and social media accounts.
You can create videos for any platform, always getting the right aspect ratios. You can create vertical or square videos — the choice is yours.
It is possible to edit your video by adding studio effects, animations, transitions, and overlays. There are plenty of fonts to choose from when adding text to your videos, and each template comes with built-in stock audio for you to use.
Feel free to brand your videos using your brand colors. Once you’ve created your video, rendering will happen quickly, in the cloud, so you can share it right away.
Viddyoze has something that Vidnami did not offer — the option to white label the entire Viddyoze software. In other words, you can sell the software as your own, under your own branding, or use it to offer your clients an advanced video creation suite.
8. VidToon
VidToon is an animated video maker. Like Vidnami, it allows you to create videos for your brand, but with a twist — VidToon is a better option if you are trying to create explainer or promotional videos featuring animated characters.
With the text to speech options, you can generate unique voice-overs. There is a royalty-free library available, so you can add music and images to your videos.
VidToon comes with global support, allowing you to add text from multiple languages, including Hebrew, Hindu, Arabic, Russian, and Chinese characters.
With VidToon 2.0, you can access 25 new characters and add them to your videos for a unique flair. With drag and drop editing, even newbies can use VidToon to promote their eCommerce products or advertise for an upcoming webinar.
9. Biteable
Biteable’s Video Maker is a tool that allows you to create short, animated videos for a variety of purposes, including Facebook posts, software promos, product promos, training, and more. In general, there are four categories of videos you can create with Biteable:
- Promotional videos
- Social media videos
- Explainer videos
- Animations
The Video Maker is relatively easy to use, like Vidnami. However, with a forever-free plan that allows for unlimited video exports (albeit with a watermark) and millions of stock media, Biteable sets itself apart from Vidnami and many other video makers.
10. WeVideo
WeVideo is an online video editor that is forever free to use, unlike Vidnami. Furthermore, despite being free, it is specifically targeted to businesses and educators in addition to those using it for personal use.
WeVideo offers many advanced features. For example, you can use the green screen feature and other features for studio-level production.
While the free plan only allows for five minutes of publish time a month and 1 GB of cloud storage, it does include features such as the GIF creator and the ability to export only the audio of a video to upload as a podcast.
Screen recording is included as well. If you would like more advanced features, pricing starts at just a few dollars a month, allowing you to enjoy advanced production capabilities on a budget.
For example, even the cheapest premium plan allows you to use the green screen effect or create a slow-motion video. All plans allow you to record the screen, but the more advanced plans also allow you to record your webcam at the same time as your screen recording.
With web-based cloud editing and shared projects, teams can use WeVideo to create professional-quality videos.
WeVideo partnered with Canvas, ClassLink, Google for Education, and others to provide educators with the best tools.
11. Video Jaguar
Those who used Vidnami in the past and now need an alternative may want to consider Video Jaguar. With a lifetime license, you only need to pay once, and you can then use the software forever, with zero recurring fees.
Included in the lifetime license are over 900 templates, allowing you to create videos quickly. You can publish the videos directly to social media, set up auto-posting to social media, or schedule videos to be published to social media in advance.
In addition, you get a video thumbnail maker, a logo maker powered by artificial intelligence, professional call-to-action voice-overs, and plenty of other features.
Furthermore, there is a library of stock videos for you to use, as well as sales scripts that are done for you and ready for use.
Video Jaguar has templates for 11 social media platforms, and also allows for auto-posting or scheduled posting to those same platforms. Those are:
- YouTube
- Medium
- Vimeo
- Dailymotion
- TikTok
12. Typito
Typito is one of the best Vidnami alternatives for creating text videos online. It features a drag and drop editor, and over 200,000 businesses prefer it for its ease of use.
With over 20 video formats and aspect ratios and well over 500 video templates, Typito allows you to upload text to create videos for any platform or for any purpose.
You can create your own brand kit to customize and brand the videos you make on the platform, and there are over 600,000 stock photos available from Unsplash, which you can add to your videos.
Whether it’s a holiday video, resume video, training video, explainer video, product promo, or anything else, Typito has got you covered.
13. Moovly
Moovly is an online video editor, and it is a good alternative to Vidnami if you need to create marketing, sales, educational, training, or other types of professional videos. You can create any style of video: motion graphics, footage, cartoons, and doodles.
Moovly allows you to choose from the available templates or create your videos from scratch. One cool thing about Moovly is that there are hundreds of artificial voices to choose from for your voice-overs, and you can automatically generate subtitles and translate them into any language.
Moovly Studio is an online editor, so you won’t have to download any software. With over 75 million assets you can add to your videos, you can be as creative as you’d like.
It’s an intuitive video editor. Moreover, Moovly offers something that Vidnami never did: a WordPress plugin.
Using the Moovly plugin, you can add video content to your site, create branded customer testimonials, generate forms based on your video content, and a lot more!
14. Wave.video
Most video editors and makers only allow you to create the videos. After that, you need to download them and find a place to host them yourself.
Wave.video is different. Unlike Vidnami and most other video makers, it actually offers video hosting as well.
In other words, you can host the video you create with Wave.video for free on the site, without owning your own website, and share the link with friends or family. You can also share the link on social media.
Not only that, but if you want to add a video to your WordPress blog, you don’t have to upload it directly. Instead, host it on Wave.video, and you can use the embed code to embed it on your site.
Since Wave.video is a cloud-based tool, you can do all your editing online. You can add text and animations, record voice-overs for your videos, add effects and filters, and a lot more!
Wave.video allows you to upload captions or generate subtitles automatically.
15. Animaker
A good Vidnami alternative, especially for those needing to create animations, is Animaker. Designed for complete newbies, you don’t need any prior skills to create superb animations using the tool.
With the character builder, you can come up with unique personalities and characters. Just use drag and drop to create your videos — it’s not rocket science!
There are over 1,000 templates and over 100 million stock assets, allowing you to customize your videos as you see fit.
16. Make Web Video
Despite the somewhat unoriginal name, Make Web Video is actually a great alternative to Vidnami. One of the reasons to consider it is that it offers pay-per-video pricing, something that Vidnami did not.
There’s no need to lock yourself into costly monthly subscriptions or limit yourself to the free versions or trial periods offered by other video makers. For just $10 a video (some templates will cost more), you can enjoy all features.
See updated pricing here.
There is even a free version of Make Web Video, but you are limited to low-resolution videos with a watermark.
Make Web Video offers cloud hosting, where you can host your videos, and you can embed them from there on your website.
Wrapping It Up: What Is The Best Vidnami Alternative?
I recommend using Lumen5, as it is the best Vidnami alternative nowadays for creating business and marketing videos.
Like Vidnami, it uses artificial intelligence and offers many of the same features; furthermore, it allows you to create an unlimited number of watermarked videos for free.
